Albinism is a genetic disorder that has been known to man kind for thousands of years. No one in specific "discovered" albinism, although many were aware of this disorder. It has always been mentioned in medical literature. Greeks and Romans such as Plinius Secundus the elder have mentioned this genetic disorder and have described albinism in people. The first accurate scientific paper was written by Sir Archibald Garrod in 1908. This paper provided a numerous amount of answers to questions about this specific genetic disorder. The term "albino" means "white negro". Balthazar Telez came up with the term to refer to distinguish between what he thought were two separate races when he saw an Albino African tribe.
